Beginning in 2005, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) required all child and adolescent psychiatrists certified after 1994 to become recertified every 10 years. The AACAP and the ABPN have joined in a collaborative process that links lifelong learning with self assessment in child and adolescent psychiatry to recertification.
