This Workshop explores the increasing medico-legal risks in the practice of child and adolescent psychiatry. Two forensic child and adolescent psychiatrists and a patient advocate attorney review forensic concepts of the evolving standards of care in child and adolescent psychiatry and detail approaches to specific clinical dilemmas in high risk patients and treatment sites. The Workshop identifies forensically informed best practices to prevent and/or manage these risks. Attendees are encouraged to discuss brief vignettes of cases which have presented medico-legal risks.
