This Workshop focuses on personal injury resulting from traumatic stress and violation of civil rights of persons in state-run institutions, resulting from substandard care especially mental health care. The Workshop explores principles and techniques of psychiatric forensic assessment of the involved individuals and of institutional systems of care. Techniques of evidence-based psychiatric testimony in courts of law are highlighted. Examples of actual cases and court decisions are discussed.
