This Workshop familiarizes participants with an evidence-based treatment for disruptive preschoolers, Parent Child Interaction
Therapy (PCIT), through lecture, role-play, and video presentations. Participants learn about the theoretical and empirical basis and the assessment procedures integral to PCIT. We review the PCIT skills that parents learn, and the skills that therapists must use to coach the parents to mastery of the interaction skills. The Workshop reviews standard PCIT and innovative cultural adaptations for Mexican Americans.
