Symposium 28: An Update on Pediatric Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry

The Simon Wile Symposium honors the work of a pioneer in the area of Pediatric Consultation-Liaison by presenting an update on current methods of psychiatric assessment and treatment in a pediatric environment. Dr. Shaw and Dr. Bernard discuss posttraumatic Stress in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Benton presents Inpatient Behavioral Health Redesign in a Children’s Hospital: A Pilot Program. Dr. Martini speaks about Mental Status Change as a Predictor of Serious Adverse Medical Events.

The Simon Wile Leadership in Consultation Award recognizes outstanding leadership and continuous contributions in the field of consultation-liaison child and adolescent psychiatry. These contributions have national or international stature and clearly demonstrate lasting effects. The contributions are in the areas of teaching, research, program development, direct clinical service, advocacy, or administrative commitment.
