Dr. Weiss is the Director of the Provincial (British Columbia) ADHD Program, which serves patients of all ages. She has a long standing interest in all aspects of ADHD, and most particularly has been interested in ADHD in adults, assisting parents with ADHD, and the development of new psychological and medication strategies for ADHD. She is also the Director of Research for the Division of Child Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia. She has published the chapter on ADHD in the textbook on child psychiatry by Dr. Melvin Lewis, a book on ADHD in Adults (with Drs. Lily Hechtman and Gabrielle Weiss), as well as articles on various clinical and pharmacological modalities for treatment of ADHD. While completing her training in medicine, Dr. Weiss also obtained a Ph.D. in the History and Philosophy of Science at Harvard University. She enjoys using this perspective to understand some of the complexities we face in helping difficult patients in these changing times.
