Health/Where to get information
A number of resources exist online for those concerned about children’s mental helaht. The best is the Web site of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which contains plenty of practical information and resources.

AACAP Web Site Awarded 4-Star Rating
AACAP's Web site has been awarded a four-star rating by the Tufts University Child and Family WebGuide. The Web site was cited as presenting families and those working with children with "viable methods to approach disobedience and in-depth information" in the "Facts for Families and Other Resources" and "Journals and Other Publications" sections. The WebGuide identifies, describes, and evaluates Web sites that contain the most credible child development information available. Only a small percentage of sites pass the WebGuide's rigourous screening process and of these, less than 20 percent receive a four-star award. Contraulations AACAP!
April 2001
The AACAP Web site has recently been awarded 4 stars by the Child and Family WebGuide. Created by faculty in the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University, in collaboration with academic librarians at Tufts' Tisch Library and the Society for Research in Child Development, the WebGuide identifies, describes and evaluates web sites that contain the most credible information available on a given topic.

The Academy's Homepage has been honored once again. This time by the Main Quad, whose vision is to connect the world's college students to each other and the world. "The Dean's List: Web Sites with Distinction" consists of 300 hot links to sites dealing with everything from activism to zygotes. The Main Quad also honors the Academy’s Facts for Families as being excellent resources for students.
addition, Point has chosen the Academy’s Homepage for their "Top 5%of the Web" catalog. The Homepage will be listed on Point, and offers the viewer a direct link to the Academy Homepage. In describing the Academy’s Homepage, Point editors refer to the Academy's Facts for Families as offering guidance and insight into how children deal with adversity and how the viewer can help.

Homepage Gleams Another Award

AACAP Homepage Honored
If you haven't tuned into the Homepage lately, you may not know, the Academy's World Wide Web Homepage was honored as January's "Website of the Month" by Texas A & M University Health Science Center. The Center was so impressed, they have been encouraging their residents and medical students to view the Academy's Facts for Families. The Academy is the first site ever to receive this award.
