Lifelong Learning & Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
AACAP's Work Group on Lifelong Learning, co-chaired by Sandra Sexson, M.D. and Andrew Russell, M.D., has provided specific resources and products targeted to those engaged in the maintenance of certification (MOC) effort. Key among these is our series of lifelong learning modules. These self-taught books identify the best journal articles on child and adolescent psychiatry from the medical literature. Each Module supplies 30 hours of specialty-specific Category 1 credit to be used towards Maintenance of Certification self-assessment and CME requirements for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
With over 5,000 modules sold since its inception seven years ago, we are proud to offer the most recent module, Module 7: Neuroscience, Pediatric and Neurologic Consultative Issues, bereavement, Death and Dying, Dead, Medical/Psychiatric Interface, (Factitious Disorders, Sleep Disorders, Somatoform Disorders) and Relevant Updates for Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists . Click here to see a list of the article references in this module and previously published modules. The AACAP Web site also provides a host of information on the history of MOC, specific requirements, and how AACAP is working to help you. To find out more about the modules or recertification, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page.
