America has a mental health crisis that affects 15 million children and teenagers, with one in five having a diagnosable mental or emotional disorder. Tragically, only 20% of those who suffer receive treatment. In response to this epidemic, The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) has launched The Campaign for America's Kids.

The Campaign's purpose is to ensure that children and adolescents can get easy access to the mental health services they need. Untreated emotional and mental disorders shatter lives, families and dreams. Our goal is nothing less than “Mental Health for ALL Children”. Mental illnesses are so common, so urgent and so treatable. Please join us to ensure that all our kids get the help they deserve to lead full, happy and productive lives.

Contribute

Do you know any family who, at one point or another, has NOT had a child struggling with a mental illness, development disorder or an emotional problem? It's time we all work together to DO something about this crisis to alleviate the emotional and mental pain that has become such a part of many kids every day lives.

The Campaign for America's Kids is a comprehensive program to provide help by:

• Expanding scientific research
• Communicating how treatable mental illnesses really are
• Helping erase the stigma of mental illnesses
• Changing our health system through advocacy on the local, state and national levels of government
• Ensuring every child has easy access to mental health treatment and care
• Educating parents and teachers on how to identify what is normal, what is not and how to get help.
