This Workshop is intended to provide attendees with a “how to do it” course in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for pediatric Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), including training in the manualized version of CBT used in the Pediatric OCD Treatment Study (POTS).The presenters introduce CBT for OCD in the context of the assessment and treatment of OCD in children and adolescents and session-by-session training on implementation of CBT is provided. The presenters touch upon many areas including how to implement brief principle-based CBT during medication visits and the adaptation of CBT to younger children. A discussion on how to implement contingency management procedures in the setting of CBT for OCD and on the extension of CBT for OCD trichotillomania and tic disorders takes place.
