54th Annual Meeting Program
Workshop JJ: Treatment Planning that Works in Modern Systems of Care

Saturday, October 27
12:00 – 3:00 p.m. (ticket)
Gordon P. Harper, M.D., Girard E. Robinson, M.D.

In this Workshop, participants learn an alternative approach called focal treatment planning. This approach draws on experience in academic centers, in the public sector in Massachusetts, and in an integrated mental health system in Maine. It uses categorical diagnoses but also fosters the clinical work, including patient partnership, and parent empowerment. It facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration, promotes strengths and a future perspective, and captures the point of view of the individual child. The Workshop consists of a presentation of this method followed by practice sessions in which participants apply this method to cases from their own practice.
