Dr. Josephson is Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and Chair of AACAP’s Family Committee. He is particularly interested in how family influences the formation of intrapsychic percepts, especially in adolescent psychopathology and disruptive behavior disorders, and how these forces can be harnessed to effect therapeutic change. In this session, Dr. Josephson reviews a videotape example to illustrate these dynamics. The discussion focuses on the integration of therapies—individual, family, pharmacologic—and their sequencing.
